R&B artist Maxwell is back after a long break with a new release his first since 2001. The Boston Globe had this to say about his latest work, BLACKsummers’ night, “…reminds you of why Maxwell is the premiere R&B vovalist of his generation.”
Maxwell recently talked with USA Today about his time away from the musical spotlight and about the new album.
“”It’s almost career suicide to take a break and just not release music like I did,” says Maxwell, 36. “But to have people still care, I just don’t know what to say and how to explain it. I’m just so happy because it validates the music I did in my 20s.”
