The 2011 Rose Parade continued its annual tradition of producing some of the most amazing floats.
Honda’s entry this year was called “A World of Dreams.” The float was powered by a specially configured hybrid, low-emission Honda engine–a first in the Rose Parade. The 2011 Rose Parade marks Honda’s 50th year of collaboration with the Tournament of Roses.
Some of this years award winning floats were:
* Discover Financial Services: “A State Fair to Remember” – Grand Marshal’s Trophy for excellence in creative concept and design
* Kaiser Permanente: “Purrfectly Healthy” – Directors’ Trophy for outstanding artistic merit in design and floral presentation
* Cunard Line: “A Grand Celebration at Sea” – Queen’s Trophy for best use of roses
* City of Beverly Hills: “City of Dreams Come True” – Mayor’s Trophy for most outstanding city entry
* The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation: “Ronald Reagan: Inspired Freedom, Changed the World” – National Trophy for best depiction of life in the United States, past present or future
* Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Pet Foods: “Friends Havin’ a Splash” – Tournament Special Trophy for exceptional merit in multiple classifications
* City of Torrance: “Afternoon Tea with Friends” – Tournament Volunteers’ Trophy for best floral design of parade theme under 35 feet in length.
The Rose Parade is held every New Year’s Day in Pasadena.
