The Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) held their 16th Annual PRISM Awards this week in Beverly Hills. The awards honor television and film productions and performances that accurately depict drug, alcohol and tobacco use and addiction, as well as mental health issues in entertainment productions. Such shows as “Castle,” “Days of Our Lives,” “Shameless” “Dr. Drew” and “Shameless” were honored.
Spotlight-On-Entertainment, in conjunction with Daytime TV Examiner, talked to Tony Denison on the red carpet before the show, where he talked about how important an event like this is important to him. The actor talked about his current show, “The Closer” spinning off the new show “Major Crimes.”
“Major Crimes” will pick up where “The Closer” leaves off, looking at how the police and prosecutors work together to build a solid case that will result in a suspect confessing, signing a plea agreement, or being found guilty in a court of law.

The awards ceremony will be televised in September on FX.
