“American Idol” is quickly shaping up next season with a panel of judges from all music genres next season.
Fox has announced that Mariah Carey will help judge the original reality competition show when it returns in January 2013. The superstar’s addition comes on the heels of Jennifer Lopez departing. Carey is said to be getting an $18 million dollar payday for her participation.
Now comes word that the third chair vacated by Steven Tyler could be filled by country superstar Brad Paisley.
According to Deadline, Paisley is “seriously being considered.” Adding Paisley to the panel of Carey and Randy Jackson (who is expected to return)would be a natural addition. The show’s biggest success story is country darling Carrie Underwood, who was the winner of Idol’s 4th season winner and has become one of the most successful country artists of all time.
Also Season 10’s winner was country teen, Scotty McCreery.
