The 70th Annual Tony Awards were held in New York with host James Corden. The host of CBS’s “Late Late Show,” mentioned the tragedy in Orlando that weighed heavily on everyone’s mind.
Corden was introduced by the cast of “Hamilton.” He promises that the awards will not be all about “Hamilton” saying that their will also be commercial breaks. His opening number is him singing a number of famous songs from “Phantom of the Opera,” “Grease,” “Dreamgirls,” “The Lion King,” “Annie” and “42nd Street” among others.
An all-star cast came out for the night, including James Earl Jones, Angela Lansbury, Cate Blanchett, Oprah Winfrey and Barbra Streisand.
