(Originally posted at Examiner.com of 6/28/16) “Days of our Lives” executive producer Ken Corday is about to get walked on. The Emmy winner will be joining long time cast member Deidre Hall when he is honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard. Corday was one of the honorees announced by The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
Corday’s parents, Ted and Betty, created “Days of Our Lives” in 1965. Having getting his start on the long running daytime drama as a music composer, he took on the role of executive producer in 1986. The show has received the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama.
Other Daytime television stars receiving a star are talk show host Tyra Banks and “The Young and the Restless” alum Eva Longoria.
Banks is no stranger to Daytime audiences for her long running talk show, “The Tyra Banks Show,” “The FAB Life” as well as “America’s Next Top Model.”
Longoria who cut her teeth as an actress like many Hollywood A-listers with a role on Daytime’s “The Young and the Restless,” rose to fame as one of the stars on the very popular series “Desperate Housewives” and serves as executive producer and director on many projects including Lifetime’s “Devious Maids.”
Also honored with a star of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame are Ice Cube, John Legend, New Edition, *NSYNC, Hall & Oates, Clarence Avant, Selena, Amy Adams, Jason Bateman, Goldie Hawn, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Pratt, Brett Ratner, Ryan Reynolds, George A. Romero, Mark Ruffalo, Rita Wilson, Andre Braugher, Lee Daniels, Hugh Laurie, Wolfgang Puck, Keri Russell, Haim Saban, George Segal, Sarah Silverman, Jeffrey Tambor, , Elvis Duran, Criss Angel, Jeff Dunham, and Gustavo Dudamel.
“Days of our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
