It’s a new day, It’s a new dawn and its feeling good. “The Voice” begins Season 11 with a shakeup that could make this the best season yet.
Two powerful and talented women step into the coaches chairs when the new season of “The Voice” returns on September 19 on NBC. Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys are giving returning incumbent coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton a run for their money this season as the line-up change brings a fresh energy to the show.
Alicia Keys easily takes the baton passed by Pharell Williams by bringing the artistry and producing credit to the show. Her 15 Grammys and love of music is genuinely seen when she’s turns her chair for an artist. Its poetry in motion for her as she greets “The Voice” hopefuls and reveals why they should pick her as their coach.
Miley Cyrus never does anything halfway and her joining “The Voice” is no different. She takes on the veteran coaches head on and diffuses the “old boys club” mentality of that Christina Aguilera was able to break through as the only female coach to come out on top when she won Season 10 with songtress Alisan Porter.
“You’ve won three times and this is the eleventh season. So that is the math I’d throw at you,” Miley says to Adam as they compete for a contestant to be on their team.
None, I’m new but I’m going to win this season here with this beautiful voice,, Miley shoots back when Adam reminds her that she has yet to win.
Not only will there be great music – the Coaches powerful performance of “Dream On” is one the best collaborations the show has had in 11 Season. Add some powerful auditions and amazing 4 chair turns, Miley and Alicia’s charm and wit anchored with Adam and Blake’s bromance which is stronger than ever and you have a Season 11 that promises to be a whole lot of fun.
“The Voice” 1 hour preview airs Sunday, August 21 after the Olympics Closing Ceremony on NBC.
