It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The 85th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade, the largest Christmas celebration in America, announces that Olivia Newton-John has been named the Grand Marshal for this year’s landmark anniversary event.
The parade takes place in the heart of Hollywood on Sunday, November 27 beginning at 5:00 p.m.
The parade’s telecast will be hosted by Erik Estrada, Laura McKenzie, Dean Cain and Montel Williams, with special co-hosts Elizabeth Stanton and Garrett Clayton. The event will include live musical performances (to be announced) that will take place on two stages; benefiting The Marine Toys For Tots Foundation.
The 85th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade will premiere as a two-hour special on The CW Network on December 16 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, repeating on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel (air-dates TBA). The parade will also air to more than one million American servicemen and women worldwide on American Forces Network.
“The Bold and the Beautiful,” the most watch serial in the world with other 35 million viewers daily, celebrates their upcoming 30th anniversary as featured guests on the parade route.
Throughout her career, Olivia has served as Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations Environment Programme, was the co-founder of Children’s Health Environmental Coalition (now Healthy Child, Healthy World) and, in 1992 she created National Tree Day in Australia, which is responsible for planting more than 10 million trees. She and her husband “Amazon John” Easterling serving on the board of the ACEER Organization (ACEER.org). Most recently she co-founded One Tree Per Child. In 1992, As a cancer survivor, Olivia partnered with the Austin Health and the creation of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre (ONJCWRC) in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia.
