Thanksgiving Marathons: ‘Soul Food’, ‘Shameless’, ‘The Simpsons’, ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ and more

Turkey Day is the perfect time to catch up on TV. Face it, if you are not a football fan or don’t want to deal with the craziness not interested in Black Friday sales, then sitting on the couch binge watching shows might be the thing for you. Below are some of the marathons and movies to watch in between eating leftovers.

ION TV has a “Blue Bloods” marathon on beginning st 11:00 a.m. The series stars Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Will Estes and Bridget Moynahan.

10 a.m. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
1 p.m. The Sons of Katie Elder

BBC America has “Star Trek” marathon starts at 6:00 a.m. The cult hit series celebrates its 50th year and its brand is expanding with an all new series, “Star Trek: Discovery” starring Michelle Yeoh.

If reality shows are your fancy, check out Bravos’s “The Real Housewives of Orange County” marathon from 6:00 a.m.to 4:00 p.m.

From 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Showtime will show “Shameless.” The series stars William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum.

If you are looking to laugh, head to TV Land for Andy, Barney, Opie and Aunt Bee for a marathon of “The Andy Griffith Show.” The comedy classic will air from 9:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m.

If you like family dramas that will remind you of home for better or worse, then check out “Soul Food” on Aspire TV. That marathon airs from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Lastly, you can spend your holiday weekend with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie when FXX runs the ultimate TV marathon with a showing of all 600 episodes of “The Simpsons” and kicks off Thanksgiving Day at noon.
