From comes the entertaining documentary “I Am Bolt.” The film follows the world’s fastest man from his amazing feats the Beijing and London Olympic Games, to the fighting to stay healthy and motivated to win three consecutive Olympic titles. The film follows Bolt and his coach Glen Mills from the World Championships in Beijing last year through to the Rio Olympics games this past summer.
Video footage shows how Bolt sometimes longs for stays on him to train and get some sleep. Bolt can be seen on his hover board talking to the camera and singing “Bump and Grind.” Motivation comes from everywhere. His best friend and manager, teammates.
But what seems to motivate him the most is a challenge by other athletes, especially on-track nemesis USA’s Olympic sprinter Justin Gatlin. Gatlin’s much-documented criticism of Bolt’s injury just before the Olympic trials is highlighted in the film and drives Bolt to another memorable win. There is even footage of an interview of Gatlin saying that his role right now is to make Bolt run faster.
“I Am Bolt” features archive footage from Bolt’s as a child, just starting his career, in-depth interviews with his family, best friends, agent, coach and fellow athletes. Sports legends such as soccer great Pele and tennis champ Serena Williams give in-depth interviews about Bolt and what his legacy will be in sports and on track and field in particular. Usain Bolt has already joined them in the prestigious club of masters in their field and Bolt can add his name to the incredible list of athletes who can be called “The Greatest of all Time.”
