‘The Bachelor’: Nick Viall talks latest season of the popular show

The next chapter of “The Bachelor” premieres Monday, January 2 at 8:00 p.m. on ABC with a season preview Sunday, January 1 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT with Nick Viall as the latest Prince Charming looking to give his final rose in hopes of finally finding love. This season starts with 30 women instead of the traditional 25 meaning that the first episode has lots of drama as the women fight to land the all-important “first impression rose.”

Like many other Bachelors before him, Viall has tried before to look for love as the runner-up on Seasons 10 and 11 of “The Bachelorette” and a try at love as pat of “Bachelor in Paradise.” Now heading into fourth go-round, Viall is the one making the decisions and has no hesitations about heading down the road again.

“When I was asked to be ‘The Bachelor’… there was a lot of thought that went into that Viall said during a press call tp promote the show. “…Some nerves and fears that went into that. But you know, having gone through it, you know, I’m not someone who tends to look back, you know, I try to look forward. And you know, I’ve always been willing to put myself out there and kind of be vulnerable in the three previous seasons so I don’t think, you know, this season is really going to be any different in that sense.”

Although Viall couldn’t give spoilers about who he chose or how the season went for his, the Milwaukee native is happy to say that he did find love.

“I think I can say I definitely found love,” Viall said. “I don’t — really won’t be able to get into much more detail about that other than you’ll have to watch and see how that all played out. What that all meant. I certainly have no regrets, I never looked back and, you know, regardless of how it all played out, you know, I always look forward and overall feel, you know, good about things.”

The fourth time appears to be the charm for Viall. After the reputation for being a villain fro his previous Bachelor experiences, one would think that Viall had it all figured out. But there were times when the outspoken software sales executive felt that he was in over his head.

“When I was asked to be The Bachelor I didn’t immediately say yes,” Viall admitted. “It’s a huge responsibility, it’s obviously an incredible opportunity but a lot goes into it and there are no guarantees. And you know, there are obviously are a lot of amazing things that come with being The Bachelor and it’s fun and cool and — but it’s also a lot. It’s a big commitment and if you’re serious about it, it can be very difficult at times. It’s very personal, there’s a lot of feelings, you know, obviously you — with the hopes of meeting someone and meeting the right person so that can be kind of a terrifying feeling. So it can be challenging. And you know, certainly every day, you know, you face those challenges and it’s very easy to, you know, question those things.”

The Bachelor premieres Monday, January 2 on ABC.

But you know, again overall I have no regrets. You know, I kind of kid about that but it’s — it can be hard and certainly it’s easy to question things, but overall, you know, I’m very lucky for the opportunity, very thankful that I was given it and, you know, certainly have no regrets.

The Bachelor” premieres Monday, January
