The 44th Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on April 30. |
The 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Award Nominations were announced on the Emmy Award-winning show, “The Talk,” on CBS on Wednesday, March 22.
The awards ceremony will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Sunday, April 30th, 2017. The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will also be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Friday, April 28th, 2017.
CBS’ hit daytime drama, “The Young and the Restless,” led the list of nominations this year with a total of 25 nominations. The other daytime dramas were right behind the Number 1 ranked drama. “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “General Hospital” each received 23 nominations while “Days of Our Lives” picked up 22 nominations this year.
Other top shows with multiple nominations include the PBS children’s program, “Odd Squad” with 14 and HBO’s “Sesame Street” with 10. Emmy-winning digital series, “The Bay,” also received 10 noms. Daytime TV fixture, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show picked up another 8 nominations to add to their already impressive resume.
“The Talk” received eight nominations including Outstanding Talk-Show hosts for co-hosts Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert and Sheryl Underwood and a nom for Outstanding Talk Show, which they won last year.
First-time nominees include Harry Connick Jr for his daytime debut, “Harry.”
