“The Voice” Season 12 is in full swing with the live playoff starting this week. The playoffs bring back voting in real time.
On Monday, April 17, the show featured performances by Team Blake Shelton and Team Alicia Keys. On Tuesday, April 18 performances will be by Team Adam Levine and Team Gwen Stefani. Here is the recap of the live playoffs Part 1.
First up was Team Blake which consisted of Casi Joy, Felicia Temple, Aaliyah Rose, Aliyah Moulden and TSoul.
Casi Joy performed the song “Parachute” by Chris Stapleton. Adam said that she is awesome. Blake says that he can’t imagine her not moving forward.
Felicia Temple performed the song “Defying Gravity” from the musical “Wicked”. Felicia was the person that Blake picked to be his comeback artist. Blake says that it was incredible and that he was glad to be on this journey with her.
Aaliyah Rose performed “Brass in Pocket” by The Pretenders. Blake said that she was special, cute and her singing tonight was her best performance.
TSoul performed “Knock on Wood” by Eddie Floyd. Adam said he was amazing, good soulful voice. Blake said that he brought to the stage what performing is about.
Aliyah Moulden performs “Mercy” by Duffy. Blake said that it was her best performance and she bought a level of youthness when performing.
Lauren Duski performs “Someone Else’s Star” by Bryan White. Adam said that it was her first note that he heard when she auditioned that he knew she would go far on the show. Blake said that she is going to see a tidal wave of support from country fans
Next up were performances by Team Alicia. First up was Chris Blue. He performed “Love on the Brain” by Rihanna. Gwen said it was mesmerizing. She is happy for him, he is so natural and she loves watching him perform. Alicia said he made it his own and is a beautiful soul.
Anatalia Villaranda performed “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King.Alicia said that she is always so full of energy.
Jack Cassidy was Alicia’s pick for her comeback artist. He performs “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down” on Me by Elton John. Alicia says he was great.
Vanessa Ferguson performed “Lean On by DJ Snake, Major Lazer”. Adam said that she is so ready. Alicia also says that she is so ready and next week they will show them a whole new style.
Ashley Levin performed “I Can’t Stand the Rain” by Tina Turner/Ann Pebbles. Alicia says that she loves the way she bought the song out to the world.
Stephanie Rice closed out the show performing “Every Breath You Take” by The Police. Gwen said that she hasn’t stop thinking about her and glad that she gets to work with an angel like Alicia. Alicia said that she is a beautiful artist.
The finals results were Team Blake: Lauren and Aliyah saved by America’s vote. Blake saved TSoul. For Team Alicia: Chris and Vanessa were saved by America’s vote. Alicia saved Stephanie
The live playoffs continue on Tuesday, April 18th on NBC.
