(L-R): Laura Harrier (Liz) and
Tom Holland (Peter) |
This week the big blockbuster movie “Spider-Man: Homecoming” hit theaters and soap fans might have noticed one of Peter Parker’s (Holland) leading ladies from the small screen.
Actress Laura Harrier plays Liz, Peter’s crush in the movie. Harrier might be best remembered by soap audiences for her portrayal of Destiny Evans in the short-lived but memorable “One Life to Live” reboot for Hulu back in 2013.
As Liz, Harrier shares nice subtle chemistry with Holland’s Peter. The movie is truly an ensemble for Peter as we see him in high school interacting quite a bit with his classmates. Liz is the captain of the school’s academic decathlon team as they prepare to compete in the national championships held in Washington D.C.
Peter experiencing his first crush and learning to navigate his newly discovered powers is a treat to watch.
Up next for Harrier is HBO’s “Fahrenheit 451,” opposite “All My Children” alum Michael B. Jordan.
Catch “Spider-Man: Homecoming” now playing.
“Spider-Man: Homecoming” Synopsis:
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in “Captain America: Civil War,” begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
