The latest season of “Black Mirror” is now streaming on Netflix. One of the episodes features Oscar winner Jodie Foster at the helm. The episode entitled “ArkAngel” stars Rosemarie DeWitt as a single mother raising a daughter.
“Black Mirror” is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us. The series is created and written by Charlie Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker and Annabel Jones.
Foster is no stranger to television directing. She directed episodes of two Netflix original series, Orange is the New Black and House of Cards. Foster received an Emmy Award Nomination and a Director’s Guild Award Nomination for “Best Directing in a Comedy Series” for Orange is the New Black and a Director’s Guild Award Nomination for “Best Directing in a Drama Series” for House of Cards. In addition to directing and producing, Foster is a two time Academy Award-winning actress, who has appeared in more than 40 films.
