Telemundo and Billboard will honor the successful career of the most successful Latin rock band of all time, Maná, with the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award that will be given to them during the Billboard Awards of the Latin Music 2018.
The iconic rock band will also present a musical performance during the prestigious ceremony that will be broadcast live on Telemundo on Thursday, April 26 at 7 pm/6c, starting with the arrival of the stars to the red carpet at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will also be broadcast simultaneously on the Hispanic entertainment cable channel, Universe. Maná released their first album in 1987. The group has managed to locate 32 songs on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs list, 10 of which led it, such as “Shared Lips” and “Rain to the Heart”, which spent eight consecutive weeks in No. 1. Maná also made 15 entries to the Top Latin Albums list, eight of which were No.1, including “Drama and Light,” which debuted at No. 1 in 2011 and reigned for nine non-consecutive weeks. Maná’s last single, “De pies a cabeza”, which debuted in 2016, gave the group its 11th No. 1 on the Latin Airplay list – a record among the bands , and their Latino Power Tour tour deserved them for being one of the most successful tours in public attendance of 2016, a place as finalists for a Billboard Latin Music Award 2017.
To date the group has been recognized with 24 Billboard Latin Music Awards and is a finalist this year by Artist “Latin Pop” of the Year, Duo or Group.
Maná will also perform at the Billboard Latin Music Conference this year in an exclusive interview during the “Rock Star Q & A” session that will take place on April 25 and where they will talk about their social and philanthropic causes.
