Mister Rogers was honored by Google on Friday, September 21 with a Google Doodle to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the day Fred Rogers first started filming Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.
The show, which started at a local station out of Pittsburgh, had an incredible 895 episodes run across PBS and Public Asses stations across the country. Mister Rogers is beloved by generations of children and adults across America with a message of acceptance and kindness.
Mister Rogers’s documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” was earlier this year.
