The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) announced the twelve individuals selected to participate in this year’s NHMC Television Writers Program.
They are Maritza Avelar, Daniela Bailes, Allegra Caldera, Michelle Calderon, Eric Esquivel, Pamela Garcia-Rooney, Emanuel Gironi, Jerry Hernandez, Elfi Martinez, Natalia Provates, Lisa Quintela, and Benjamin-Shalom Rodriguez.
Guided by Geoff Harris, former NBC vice president of script development, NHMC’s five-week immersion workshop simulates an actual writer’s room, where participants develop an original pilot and learn to pitch and market themselves and their work.
NHMC Television Writers Program participants also have the opportunity to network with entertainment executives at major television studios at small events and meetings planned throughout the program. NHMC’s program has prepared and connected more than 60 graduates for positions on award-winning and top-rated TV shows airing on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, BET, HBO, Showtime, Starz, Disney Jr., Hulu, and Netflix since 2003
