The trailer for the live-action “The Lion King” has dropped. Disney released the teaser trailer over the Thanksgiving holiday and the first scene is a recreation of the 1994 animated original movie. Jon Favreau of “Iron Man” and “The Jungle Book” fame directs.
James Earl Jones once again lends his distinctive voice to Mufasa, the king of the kingdom alongside A-list stars Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce Knowles-Carter as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Simba’s mother Sarabi, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, Eric André as Azizi, and Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa, JD McCrary as young Simba and Shahadi Wright Joseph as young Nala.
The movie is set to open next summer.
