NBC’s new songwriting competition series, “Songland,” will premiere on Tuesday, May 28.
“Songland” takes an inside look at the creative process and provides one winner per episode the opportunity to have their song recorded for a global audience by the chart-topping guest recording artists featured in their show.
The series provides talented up-and-coming songwriters with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to collaborate with visionary music producers who are responsible for today’s biggest hits.
The show features songwriter/producers, Ryan Tedder, Ester Dean and Shane McAnally who will mentor the songwriting hopefuls seeking to write the next hit song. Each week. a superstar guest recording artist will come to “Songland” looking for their next big hit.
The guest recording artists who will be featured on the show, include superstars Jonas Brothers, John Legend, Meghan Trainor, Macklemore, Charlie Puth, Kelsea Ballerini, will.i.am, OneRepublic, Aloe Blacc, Old Dominion and Leona Lewis.
“Songland” is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Audrey Morrissey (“The Voice”), director Ivan Dudynsky, Eurythmics co-founder Dave Stewart, Chad Hines, and multi-Grammy-winning recording artist and Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine. Josh Gummersall will serve as producer along with Ryan Tedder. The concept was devised by Stewart, Morrissey and Dudynsky.
