Speechless canceled on ABC |
The last Friday before the broadcast networks’ upfront presentations to the advertising community marks the final business day for renewals and cancellations.
In preparation for their Upfront presentation next week, ABC has canceled “Splitting Up Together,” “Speechless,” “For The People,” “The Fix,” and “The Kids Are Alright.”
“Splitting Up Together” starred Jenna Fisher and Oliver Hudson. Executive produced by Ellen DeGeneres, the series focused on Lena and Martin who were headed for divorce but decide to co-parent in the same house.
Loosely based on real-life cases from former prosecutor Marcia Clark, “The Fix” starred Robin Tunney, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Cohen, Adam Rayner, Merrin Dungey, Breckin Meyer, Marc Blucas, Mouzam Makkar, and Alex Saxon. The first season centered on former prosecutor Maya Travis (Tunney) who, in 2010, was unable to convict movie star Sevvy Johnson (Akinnuoye-Agbaje) in the double-homicide of his wife and her friend. After the trial, Maya fled LA, but now that Sevvy’s girlfriend has been killed, she’s lured back into action, for another shot at justice.
“Speechless” star Minnie Driver took to social media to share her disappointment in the news.
