Angelica McDaniel is out as head of CBS Daytime, Deadline reports. For nine years, McDaniel was in charge of the daytime lineup which included “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Price Is Right,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Talk.” “The Talk,” hosted by Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and incoming host Marie Osmond, was created under her tenure and has won multiple Emmys including Outstanding Daytime Talk Show.
The position is reportedly being eliminated due to the merger of CBS and Viacom and the daytime shows will be under the supervision of Current Programming department headed by Amy Reisenbach.
In addition to CBS’s weekday lineup, McDaniel also headed the 2013-2014 season rebranding of CBS’ Saturday morning programming block to CBS Dream Team… It’s Epic!
