R&B superstar Usher appeared on the season finale of “Songland” where he was presented 4 songs by up and coming artists who hoped the singer would select their song for his next single. “California,” written by Songland producer Ester Dean and songwriter Ryan Cam is a smooth mix that has Usher’s unique vibe.
For the rap portion of the track Usher recruited Tyga for the words.
This season on “Songland,” highlights included Florida Georgia Line’s whose sing “Second Guessing” reached #1 on the iTunes Overall Chart, Country Chart, and Music Video Chart while Martina McBride’s “Girls Like Me” ranked #1 on the iTunes Country Chart and #2 on iTunes Overall Chart. Latin sensation Luis Fonsi recorded the hit “Sway” which reached #1 on the iTunes Overall Chart, iTunes Latin Chart, and iTunes Latin Music Video Chart. In the Season 2 premiere, Lady Antebellum’s “Champagne Night” reached #1 on the iTunes Overall Chart, Country Chart, and Music Video Chart. It also debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales Chart.
