“Karma Chameleon” will explore George’s humble beginnings in an Irish working-class family, through his rise to the top of the international charts with the ’80s band Culture Club alongside original band members Jon Moss, Roy Hay, and Mikey Craig. The larger-than-life George never disguised who he was – a fearless, ruthlessly honest young man with an open identity who was years ahead of his time.
Gervasi’s last movie, “Hitchcock” received BAFTA, SAG, and Golden Globe nominations for Helen Mirren’s performance as Alma Reville, as well as an Oscar nomination for make-up and hairstyling. “My Dinner with Hervé” was nominated for PGA, WGA, Critics Choice Award, as well as a primetime Emmy for Outstanding Television Film. Gervasi’s critically-acclaimed Emmy award-winning rock documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil also won the Film Independent Spirit Awards and two International Documentary Association prizes, as well as a DGA nomination.
