Take a first look at the upcoming docuseries “Boys in Blue,” coming to Showtime.
“Boys In Blue” will premiere on Friday, January 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and episodes will air each Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT. All four episodes will also release on demand and on streaming platforms for SHOWTIME subscribers on January 6.
“Boys in Blue” is a four-part docuseries from filmmaker Peter Berg that spotlights North Community High School and its football team in North Minneapolis during the 2021 season as the players come of age in the aftermath of the police killing of George Floyd.
The series focuses on the North High School’s Polars football team, where mostly Black student-athletes are coached and mentored by members of the Minneapolis Police Department. The series follows the team, as well as parents and local officials, as they navigate life after the tragic police killing of Floyd, a milestone event in American history that set off a national movement for social justice and police reform.
The officers are deeply committed to giving the players the best chance to succeed on the field and work to repair the open wounds that exist between the community and law enforcement from the death of Floyd in Minneapolis in 2020.
