Actress Keke Palmer is one of the artists invited to The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as one of its new members. The group announced that it sent invitations to almost 400 artists in all fields of the motion picture industry, including many of last year’s nominees. The list includes actors, directors, writers, producers, musicians, executives, artist reps, publicists and below-the-liners such as casting directors, cinematographers, costume designers, film editors, makeup artists and hairstylists, production designers and sound production.
Notable invites include actors Keke Palmer, Bill Hader, Selma Blair, A Martinez, and last year’s Oscar nominees Ke Huy Quan, Austin Butler, Stephanie Hsu, and Paul Mescal. On the music side, Taylor Swift, David Byrne and The Weeknd were invited to the Academy as well. Swift, who is currently on a global tour wrote music for last year’s drama “Where the Crawdads Sing.”
