“The Kelly Clarkson Show” continued its winning streak in the Emmys department. The daytime show took home Outstanding Talk Series for the second consecutive year as did host Kelly Clarkson winning back-to-back Emmy awards for Daytime Talk Series Host on Friday Night. During Saturday’s creative ceremony, “The Kelly Clarkson Show” added to its tally with creative wins for Directing for a Multi-Camera Series and Technical Directing.
The show, now in its fifth season, relocated to a New York studio in NBC’s 30 Rockefeller Center.
The show’s executive producer Alex Duda and her team talked about the show’s win and move to the East Coast.
“I think we were all a little afraid because it was such a big move and we did it in season five,” Duda said of the New York move. “You never know, you don’t want to upset the balance. We have such a great team and wanted to preserve it and keep them together as much as possible. NBC was awesome… because they let us figure out a way for so many people to move across the country because they believed in it.”
While backstage the team called Kelly to inform her of the win in a hilarious Facetime call that TVMusic Network captured on video.
When asked about the show’s plans for 2024, Duda hoped to keep it big and keep building. They also wouldn’t rule out doing a week of shows in Los Angeles since they love traveling the show. “Honestly, we just relaunched,” she said. “We’re still trying to get our bearings..to get stronger and stronger and who knows where we will go but we love our new home.”
