Based on writer, director and star Rudy Mancuso’s vision, “Música” is a coming-of-age love story that follows an aspiring creator with synesthesia, who must come to terms with an uncertain future, while navigating the pressures of love, family and his Brazilian culture in Newark, New Jersey.
Mancuso based the film on his own experiences and serves as the film’s director, co-writer, composer and choreographer. The music is a character in the movie as much as Mancuso and Mendes themselves. The pair are now a couple in real life.
The movie also stars J.B. Smoove, Francesca Reale, and Maria Mancuso.
The movie is a must see for music lovers, dance lovers and for lovers of light, funny and charming love stories. The choreography stands out and gives vibes of “Zoey’s Infinite Playlist” and Lin- Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights.”
