“Brilliant Minds,” NBC‘s new medical drama has tapped Mandy Patinkin, Steve Howey and André De Shields as guest stars for Season 1. The series starring Zachary Quinto, is inspired by the life of Dr. Oliver Sacks, “Brilliant Minds” and follows a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.
De Shields plays an Alzheimer’s patient in an end-of-life care facility. His disease is in its advanced stages, but Dr. Wolf is determined to help him reconnect with his family.
Howey will play a rugged motorcycle mechanic who comes to Dr. Wolf with signs of memory loss and an accidental gunshot wound. As the severity of his condition is uncovered, he is forced to make a heartbreaking decision. A decision that will forever change his life and the lives of his loved ones.
Mandy Patinkin will play an esteemed doctor who joins the staff of Bronx General Hospital, shaking up the dynamic of our doctors.
“Brilliant Minds” also stars Zachary Quinto, Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears, and Donna Murphy and premieres Monday, September 23 on NBC.
