‘The Deliverance’: Andra Day releases ‘I Know Who Holds Tomorrow’ classic hymn

Oscar nominee Andra Day, is set to star in the Netflix drama “The Deliverance” continues to showcase her boundless artistry with the release of her soulful cover of the classic hymn “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow.”  Directed by Lee Daniels and starring Day, Glenn Close and Mo’Nique, “The Deliverance” is inspired by a true story. Ebony Jackson (Day) as she and her family move into their new home. The house is possessed by an evil spirit. It’s in the walls, in the air — and now it’s possessing her children. Ebony will need more than just an exorcist to save her family.

The song “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow,” is a cover of the classic hymn for the film’s opening and closing moments. Originally by Ira Stanphill in 1950, the hymn features Day’s voice accompanied by delicate piano chords.

“The Deliverance” is in select theaters and streaming worldwide on Netflix.
