GetTV will celebrate the life of the late John Amos this weekend with a marathon of “Good Times” this weekend October 5 and October 6 from 10 am – 1 pm. John Amos, who played family patriarch James Evan Sr. on “Good Times,” passed away in August at the age of 84.

“Good Times” centered around a family living in the projects of Chicago living day to day as a loving family. Evans played the father to JJ, Thelma, and Michael and husband to Florida.

The series, created by Norman Lear, “Good Times” starred Jimme Walker, John Amos, Esther Rolle, Ralph Carter, Bern Nadette Stanis and Ja’Net DuBois.
