Smokey Robinson Releases Motown Inspired Versions of ‘Three Little Birds’ and ‘What A Wonderful World’
Smokey Robinson is not slowing down anytime soon. The music legend is releasing a new album, “What The world Needs Now,” dropping April 25th on Gaither. The four-time Grammy winner released his latest multi-track single from the album out now via Gaither Music Group. The singles “Three Little Birds,” and an elegant “What A Wonderful World,” are from Robinson’s new album.
“Three Little Birds” is his version of the Bob Marley’s 1977 classic. “What a Wonderful World,” a song originally made famous by Louis Armstrong in 1967 features Robinson’s vocals melt beautifully over lavish strings, crystalline piano, subtly gorgeous acoustic guitar accompaniment, and dreamy, stacked backup vocals.
This year finds Robinson celebrating the 50th anniversary of his 1975 breakthrough solo album, Quiet Storm. His upcoming “Legacy Tour” will highlight the album anniversary and celebrate all his top hits throughout the decades.
