Lucasfilm held its Star Wars Celebration in London. The company’s president, Kathleen Kenndey a new series of Star Wars films are on the way from directors James Mangold, Dave Filoni and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy directing Daisy Ridley who will make her return as Rey.
Mangold’s movie will be set during the time period of the dawn of the Jedi while Filoni’s movie will be based around the New Republic, connecting the worlds explored in the Disney Plus Original TV shows. Obaid-Chinoy’s movie will take place following the Rise of Skywalker and focus on rebuilding a new Jedi order.”
Ridley will reprise her role as Rey in a movie set 15 years after the sequel trilogy ending with “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”
Ridley made a surprise appearance at the event, taking the stage zs the lead of the film which will be directed by Obaid Chinoy.
“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” ended with popular characters Luke and Leia as Jedi mentors passing the torch to Rey as the saga concluded.
