Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on December 8, 2022. The star is located at 6623 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Ballet Hollywood. Spencer was awarded her star in the category of Motion Pictures. Guest speakers included Octavia’s co-star in the Apple Original Films holiday hit “Spirited,” Will Ferrell, and her longtime friend and co-star from “The Help,” Allison Janney. Other attendees to support Octavia were Viola Davis, Julius Tennon, Mekhi Phifer, Benj Pasek, and Justin Paul.
Octavia can currently be seen in the holiday film for Apple Original Films, “Spirited,” alongside Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell. “Spirited” features original songs by Academy Award-winning songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Spencer also stars in the third season of Apple TV+’s thriller, “Truth Be Told,” as Poppy Parnell, a true crime podcast host who risks everything in pursuit of truth and justice.
