Press Release: NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Grammy nominated musician, activist and entrepreneur Pete Wentz has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for Billboard’s Mobile Entertainment Live! Fall 2009 Conference, presented by Logic Wireless. Mobile Entertainment Live! is an official partner conference taking place at International CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment®, October 7-9 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Billboard’s Mobile Entertainment Live! Fall 2009, taking place on October 6, 2009 at the Omni Hotel in San Diego, will explore how today’s advanced mobile devices and applications have revolutionized the music industry, and will examine how artists, promoters and managers are using them to promote and profit in new ways.
One of the key elements to success for Pete Wentz and Fall Out Boy is the devotion they have to their audience. The group has executed multiple Internet and mobile campaigns to keep in contact with fans in ways well beyond the average artist. As both a founder of Fall Out Boy and the owner of his own label — Decaydance — Wentz has emerged as a leading innovator in mobile artist-to-fan relations, and in this rare appearance, he will sit with Billboard Editorial Director Bill Werde to discuss how the music industry can best use mobile technology and devices to keep fans engaged.
“We’re thrilled to have an artist and innovator of Pete Wentz’s caliber participating in Mobile Entertainment Live! this year,” said Antony Bruno, Executive Director of Content & Programming, Digital/Mobile, at Billboard. “Every year we strive to bring together the best and the brightest minds to examine what the future holds for the mobile entertainment industry and provide our conference attendees with an intimate, interactive and thought provoking experience, and he definitely fits the bill.”
“Billboard’s Mobile Entertainment Live! has been a fixture at CTIA events for many years and continues to offer the industry top caliber speakers who address the most pressing issues facing entertainment today,” said Robert Mesirow, show director and vice president of CTIA. “Attendees look forward to learning how media brands are monetizing their offerings in the mobile channel.”
