“Our Family Wedding” is the latest wedding movie to show a realistic view of the conflict surrounding two families coming together as one. “Ugly Betty” star America Ferrera is Lucia and Lance Gross of “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” is Marcus, a young people who get more advise than they asked for when planning their nuptials in this new family comedy.
In the film’s tag line is “Our marriage, their wedding.” In “Our Family Wedding”, the betrothed couple learn the hard way that the path to saying “I do” can be rife with familial strife. When they announce their marriage plans to their families, they soon discover that their fathers – two highly competitive over-the-top egos – can wreak a major amount of havoc on their special day. The comedy also stars Forrest Whitaker, Carlos Mencia, Regina King, and Fred Armisen.
