An all new “A Nightmare on Elmstreet” movie hits theaters next month. Freddy Krueger returns in the film, a contemporary remake of the horror classic.
A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape.
Robert Englund, who helped make Freddy a household name and a pop culture phenomenon, does not appear in the new film. Taking over the reigns as Freddy is Academy Award(R) nominee Jackie Earle Haley (“Little Children,” “Watchmen”).
Along with a new star as Freddy, the film has a new director. The film is being directed by award-winning music video and commercial director Samuel Bayer (Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” Green Day’s “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”), marking his feature film debut.
The film opens in theaters, April 30.
