CBS' Tech Savvy Characters of ' CSI', 'NCIS', 'Criminal Minds', etc to appear at Comic-Con

Since the debut of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” 10 years ago, the use of technology has increasingly become a major character of sorts in many of today’s most popular crime procedurals, including the CBS series “CSI: Miami,” “CSI: NY,” “NCIS,” “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “Criminal Minds.” How has technology changed – on and off screen – since the premiere of “CSI”? How much of the technology used on these shows is real vs. artistic license? How has the use of technology on these shows influenced the real world? Anthony Zuiker, “CSI” creator and executive producer of “CSI,” “CSI: Miami” and “CSI: NY,” will moderate a discussion with three of television’s best-known tech wiz’s – Pauley Perrette (NCIS Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto on “NCIS”), Kirsten Vangsness (FBI Technical Analyst Penelope Garcia on “Criminal Minds”) and Barrett Foa (NCIS Tech Operator Eric Beal on “NCIS: Los Angeles”) – as well as “CSI’s” former technical advisor and current supervising producer, Richard Catalani. (The Twitter Hashtag for this panel is #TechTV. Some of the panelists Twitter handles are: @PauleyP, @BarrettFoa, @Vangsness and @Zuiker.)

The panel will be on Sat., July 24, 2:00-3:00 PM, Room 7AB
