Interview: Stan Lee talks Romeo and Juliet: The War, The Avengers, Big Bang Theory (video)

From LA Sitcom Examiner: Prolific comic book legend Stan Lee was on hand at  Barnes and Noble at The Grove for the signing of his latest project, a graphic novel entitled “Romeo and Juliet: The War.”

The book by 1812 Comics, tells the story that William Shakesphere created in a reimagining that highlights the the romance of the story as well as the action. The book modernizes the story and uses Lee’s incredible imagination to bring the project to light.  The book is a giant-sized coffee table book that is sure to be a collectable for all Stan Lee fans.

Everyone knows the story of Romeo and Juliet as told in the book. This version tells the story of two groups of superhuman soldiers who turn the Empire of Verona into the most powerful territory on Earth. The Montagues, powerful cyborgs made of artificial DNA, and the Capulets, genetically-enhanced humans known for their speed and agility, who work in tandem to destroy all threats to Verona. With no one left to fight, they have a new enemy – each other.

When a young Montague boy and Capulet girl fall in love, they secretly plan to marry, hoping their union will bring peace to the warring factions. But forces beyond their control begin to conspire against them, threatening their love, their lives…and the Empire of Verona.

LA Sitcom Examiner was one of the lucky reporters on hand to talk to Stan and his Romeo and Juliet partners, authors Terry Dougas and Max Work, to talk about the project and Stan also addressed if he’d return to reprise the role of “himself” in any upcoming episodes of “The Big BangTheory.”

Check out the video below to hear what Stan had to say.
