ABC and Hallmark Hall of Fame bring the new movie, Firelight, to prime-time Sunday, April 22 at 9pm ET/PT. Starring Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr., Firelight tells the real life story of “D.J.,” a counselor at a women’s correctional center who dedicates his professional life to helping young people reclaim their own self-respect through selfless service to others.
Cuba plays D.J., who encourages the women to join an elite team that fights forest fires and assists civilian victims of natural disasters. In learning to help others the young team members receive a second chance in life.
Also starring in the movie, directed by Darnell Martin and written by Ligiah Villalobos, are Q’orianka Kilcher, DeWanda Wise, Rebecca Rivera, Yakini Horn, Sianoa Smit-McPhee, Emily Tremaine, Diany Rodriguez, Maria Howell, Steve Coulter and Bruce McKinnon.
Spotlight-On-Entertainment chatted with Emily Tremaine on the red carpet at the movie’s premiere. The actress plays Amy, a young woman struggling with what she did and how it affects her father.
