The 2016 Critics Choice Awards were handed out in Hollywood last night. Amy Schumer received the night’s achievement award for her incredible year in television and film.
“Silicon Valley” star TJ Miller was the night’s host. Most of his comedy bits fell flat, especially when Miller told Schumer not to be funnier than the host. She was funnier much to Miller’s chagrin.

Highlights of the night included “Room” younger actor Jacob Tremblay. He had one of the night’s most talked about acceptance speech.
“Woah. This is super cool, this is the best day of my life! I first want to say thank you to all the critics who voted for me, it must be a super hard vote because of all of the other great actors in this category…I know where to put this: on the shelf right beside my millennium falcon.”
Industrial Light and Magic received a special award for their work in films since the company started in 1977. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which was one of the film that ILM worked on was represented by B-88 from the popular film.
There was a fan voted award for Most Binge Worthy Show and it went to “Outlander.” The popular Starz series beat out “Friends,” “The Walking Dead,” “Orange is the New Black” and “Empire.”
Patrick Stewart, who presented the award for Best Drama Series to “Mr. Robot,” reminded everyone that he was not Ben Kingsley, nod to Eva Longoria’s and America Ferrera’s joke at the Golden Globes.
