Eagles founder Glenn Frey has died

Musician and Eagles founder Glenn Frey has died. He was 67. Frey, along with fellow bandmates, Timothy B. Schmit, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Don Felder produced a string of hits, including “Take It Easy,” “Desperado.” “Hotel California” and won six Grammys. The band began as the backing band to Linda Ronstadt.

 “Hotel California,” which Frey wrote with Henley, is considered one of the greatest songs in the rock era.  The band which had a very public split, reunited to much fanfare for the “Hell Was Frozen Over” Tour after Henley swore the band would “never get back together.”

 Frey also dabbled in acting and writing music for television and film, recurring in the 90’s pop culture hit “Miami Vice” at the height of its popularity. His song “The Heat is On” appeared on the “Beverly Hills Cop” soundtrack.
