Aloe Blacc, Thelma Houston shine at Grammy celebration

One of the year’s most anticipated events, attracted Grammy winners, nominees and celebrities. The 2016 GRAMMY Celebration took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center immediately following the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.

Performers included past Grammy nominees Aloe Blacc, Thelma Houston and DJ Michelle Pesce.

Additionally, the Celebration’s Jazz Lounge featured performances by two-time Grammy winner Arturo O’Farrill and members of the Grammy Camp— Jazz Session. After-Party guests experience the theme titled”Grammy Land”.

The very colorful event featured 60 dancers and acrobats, four featured performances. Each year the Recording Academy members and annual Grammy nominees come together to celebrate the year in music with one last event that highlights performances, cuisine and thematic design.”

The post-telecast Grammy Celebration, had the”GRAMMY Land” theme that came to life with oversized candy displays, a water feature, larger-than-life design elements, all matched with entertainers, dancers, acrobats, aerialists, and elaborate visual projections.

For the first time, Patina Restaurant Group and Chef and Founder Joachim Splichal cater the event with a menu that is divided into five California dining destinations, giving guests the opportunity to variety of food, including taco truck bites, Napa-inspired cuisine, Santa Monica Farmers’ Market seasonal favorites, gluten-free dishes from Beverly Hills, and desserts from Hollywood including whimsical cotton candy trees.

Splichal is elated that Patina Catering has been selected to showcase its culinary offerings at the Grammy Celebration for the first time.

The menu was designed using sustainable, local California ingredients with flavors inspired by the music and the artists who create it. Leftover edible food from the GRAMMY Celebration is donated to local food banks and all cooking oil used for the event will be recycled.

Guests also had acess to McDonald’s All Day Breakfast all night long from the custom 57-foot McDonald’s McRig™ parked inside the Los Angeles Convention Center. Partygoers experienced what it means to have a Good Morning with All Day Breakfast at night in the interactive photo booth.

MasterCard Worldwide is sponsored a priceless musical experience with artists set to perform on the MasterCard stage.

Aloe Blacc performed a variety of his hits including “I Need a Dollar”, “The Man” and Avicii’s “Wake Me Up”, the numer one song in which he provides vocals on to a huge crowd response.

Thelma Houston also hit the stage performing her songs. The audience stayed on the dance floor with the biggest applause when she performed her Grammy award winning song “Don’t Leave Me This Way. Houston vocals and stage presence was spot on and covered a variety of her songs and covers of other popular R&B songs.

Official partner Hyundai will also be featuring one of its award-winning vehicles in an interactive display. The evening also featured fine spirits by Cîroc Ultra-Premium Vodka, Johnny Walker Black Label and Don Julio Tequila.
