The show “Greatest Hits Live” finale took place live from the Microsoft Theatre and featured the years 1980-2005. The artists performed some of the greatest hits from the 80s, 90s and 2000s in a live two-hour finale. The show featured performances by En Vogue, John Legend, New Edition, Richard Marx, Colin Hay, Celine Dion, Adam Lambert, Ariana Grande, Nelly, collaborations with Sheryl Crow & Kelsea Ballerini, Smash Mouth & Hunter Hayes and a tribute to Run DMC by Flo Rida. It was announced that the years 1980-1985 was selected as the greatest era of hits.
Adam Lambert performance early in the broadcast performing “Faith” by George Michael. The song was written and performed by Michael from his 1987 debut solo album “Faith”. The song was the top-selling single 1988.
Screams for Lambert started during the commercial break when he appeared on stage and in position to start the performance. Lambert delivered another great energetic performance with stellar vocals.
At the end of his performance, Host Arsenio Hall stated “the boy can sing”. Click on the video to see the performance.
Lambert can next been seen in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” revival on Fox and as a judge on “The X Factor Australia.
After the performance, Lambert posted on “Thanks George! A childhood fav!” on his social media pages with a link to the video clip.
Michael has been on a music hiatus, but his songs are as popular as ever. “Careless Whisper” was featured in the movie “Deadpool” and four of his song and a plot reference is in the movie “Keanu” (Faith, Father Figure, One More Try and Freedom.)
The music series is hosted by actor and comedian Arsenio Hall and country music star Kelsea Ballerini, highlights in each episode a five-year period celebrating the biggest hits from that time with music artists, as well as today’s music chart-toppers, taking the stage and perform the songs that defined the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. The six-episode series has featured special solo performances, never-before-tributes and duets.
