Lifetime will air an original movie based on the life of Jon Benet Ramsey, whose murder twenty years ago captured the world’s attention and the case that remains unsolved. The network will debut a four-hour block dedicated to the life and death of JonBenét Ramsey with the premiere of the two-hour movie, Who Killed JonBenét?, centering on the true story about the six-year-old beauty queen whose murder in her Colorado home remains unsolved.
“Who Killed JonBenét?” premieres on Saturday, November 5 at 8pm ET/PT and stars Eion Bailey (Band of Brothers), Michel Gill (Mr. Robot), Julia Campbell (Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion) and Payton Lepinski as JonBenet.
Immediately following the premiere of the film at 10pm ET/PT, the two-hour special JonBenét’s Mother: Victim or Killer? delves into the real Patsy Ramsey, the person most people believe killed JonBenet. The special reconstructs her life as a socialite, beauty queen, wife, mother and suspected killer, and digs deep into the mind and actions of this mysterious woman. The special features people who have never spoken publicly, taking a fresh look at the crime and examines the evidence through the lens of modern forensic technology.
“Who Killed JonBenét?” provides a closer look into what exactly happened the day after Christmas 1996, when she was found beaten and strangled in the family’s basement. With the addition of recently surfaced information, the film takes a fresh look at the events and the competing theories about the murder.
Were Patsy (Campbell) and John (Gill) Ramsey responsible or covering for someone else in the family? Was this a kidnapping gone wrong, or was this the work of a predator who had seen JonBenét in one of her pageants? Twenty years after the tragic events, the question remains: Who killed JonBenet?
