In ABC’s “The Goldbergs,” Wendi McLendon-Covey plays
Beverly Goldberg, a way too involved in her children’s lives. As her children, Adam
(Sean Giambrone), Barry (Troy Gentile) and Erica (Hayley Orrantia) grow up,
Beverly seems more determined ever to have a place in every aspect of their
lives.
For the actress, who also appeared in “Bridesmaids” and “Reno
911,” the role as Beverly is a dream come true.
To play the role of a mom on a show set in the 1980s requires a transformation that Covey admits that even the crew doesn’t recognize
her sometimes out of character.
TVMusic Network caught up with the busy actress as she
hosted the 2016 TV Guide’s sponsored Television Advocacy Awards during Emmy
weekend.
