The 2017 Billboard Music Awards had plenty of water cooler moments, including Drake’s historic win in which he broke the record for the most wins in one night with 13. Celine Dion marked the 20th anniversary of her mega hit- “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic with a remarkable rendition of one of the world’s most recognized song.
But the woman of the night was Cher. The original pop diva returned to the Billboard Music Awards stage to receive the Icon Award celebrating her incredible 60-year career.
The music superstar then took to the stage to sing her hits, “Believe,” and, “If I Could Turn Back Time.” “Believe” remains of the best-selling singles of all time and Cher remains the only recording artist (counting Sonny and Cher’s “I Got You Babe”) to have a number-one single on a Billboard chart in the past six decades of her career.
For “If I Could Turn Back Time,” the legendary singer, who is also a fashion pioneer, dressed in the legendary outfit she wore for the song’s 1989 music video set aboard the USS Missouri.
At 71 years young, Cher shows no signs of slowing down. She is currently doing a residency in Las Vegas.
