It’s a pair of bookends for RuPaul as the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” host took home his second Emmy for Outstanding Host or Reality-Competition Program.
“Drag Race,” which RuPaul also executive produces, picked up an Emmy for OutstandingCostumes For Variety, Nonfiction Or Reality Programming and another Emmy for Outstanding Picture Editing For A Structured Or Competition Reality Program.
RuPaul did not attend the Saturday night ceremony because he was attending the Drag Race Fan Fare “DragCon” in New York.
“I am beyond grateful to the Television Academy for giving love to our show again this year,” RuPaul said in a statement. “Providing an international platform for 113 outrageous, courageous and talented queens has been the greatest reward of all. None of this would be possible it weren’t for the incredible cast and crew of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and my partners at World of Wonder and VH1.”
