The 2018 Essence Festival will be taking place in New Orleans over the 4th of July weekend at the Super Dome from July 5 to July 8. The nightly concert series will feature performances by Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Snoop Dogg, The Roots, Xscape, Fantasia and Miguel.
Attendance is sure to be up this year after the music event was the setting for the 2017 Blockbuster Summer Movie, “Girls Trip.”
