“Call The Midwife” is back with all new episodes begining Sunday, March 25th on PBS.The season opens with back-to-back episodes starting at 8:00pm ET.
In the season opener, The severe winter continues to put pressure on the team at Nonnatus House as they await the arrival of a new midwife. Lucille Anderson arrives days late due to the snow and gets a baptism of fire helping Trixie with a breech birth. Nurse Crane and Dr. Turner care for an elderly cancer patient while the slum clearance on her street inches closer to her home.
The following hour, Lucille faces racism and prejudice when a mother falls ill from an unexpected complication after giving birth. Sister Winifred is keen to have fathers to be more involved in the care of their babies. The Turners’ Hungarian au pair arrives and is an instant hit.
